Yalova schools to remain closed on 16 October as suspension is extended

Public and private schools in Yalova will remain closed on Friday, 16 October, due to expected rain and strong winds.

The suspension of classes in Yalova will continue for another day because of adverse weather conditions. According to the governor’s office statement reported by Son Dakika, public and private schools, as well as special education institutions across the province, will hold no classes on Friday, 16 October 2026. The decision was prompted by forecasts of excessive rainfall and strong winds. The statement noted that the latest meteorological assessments indicated rain would continue on Friday, although with reduced intensity.
